Simon Burgess - Bass Trombone
Simon began banding in 1974, and toured America with the Darlington Youth Wind Band. He then moved to Newcastle and played with Felling Silver Band before joining the Royal Navy. During his time in the Royal Navy he has played for Dunfermline Town and Lochgelly bands, Helensburgh Orchestra and all Royal Navy Volunteer bands including Plymouth, Rosyth, Clyde, Gibraltar and the RAF band at Kinross.
Simon has a BA Hons in Humanities with Music through the Open University. He has now retired from the Royal Navy and is at Durham University studying for a PGCE Secondary Music with a view to becoming a music teacher.
